Which Buyer Are You?

According to industry studies, there are three types of buyers:

• An individual is looking for a comfortable future with a steady income stream that can support a life style and recover his/her investment in a time period. They are really buying a "job"; these individuals have between $50,000 and $500,000 to invest in a business.
• Individuals or groups of individuals looking for companies between $5,000,000 to $50,000,000 in annual sales. They are able and willing to pay from 30% to 75% in cash. The goal is to increase their equity position in the company and expand other economic components. The are often referred to as "financial buyers."
• The third is a strategic buyer. These buyers are interested in the business and/or services as the company being sold fits into the buyers' own business, plans, lines and services.
